How does booking a private chef work?

Start by submitting an inquiry with your event details. We’ll review your guest count, menu preferences, service style, and budget, then match you with a professional chef from our network. Once details are confirmed, we send a service agreement and deposit invoice to secure your booking.

Do you pre-screen Chefs for certification?

Yes, chefs are required to show proof of ServSafe certificate.

What types of events do you serve?

Our chefs provide services for private dinners, Airbnb stays, retreats, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate gatherings, holiday celebrations, and special occasions of all sizes.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing depends on your group size, the type of meal or experience you want, and the ingredients needed. Once we know your event details, we’ll match you with the right chef and send you a clear quote before anything is confirmed.

How far in advance should I book?

It is recommended to book as early as possible, especially for weekends and retreat events. Often, we can accommodate you on shorter notice depending on the chef availability.

Can menus accommodate dietary restrictions?

Absolutely! Our chefs regularly accommodate gluten-free, vegan, allergy-sensitive, and other dietary needs when disclosed in advance.

Do chefs bring their own equipment & purchase groceries?

Chefs typically use the kitchen and equipment available at the event location. Clients must provide a safe working kitchen with functioning appliances and adequate refrigerator space.

Your assigned chef handles ingredient sourcing using the grocery budget collected in advance. This ensures professional-quality ingredients and smooth event execution.

Does the chef clean up after the event?

Yes. The chef cleans all cookware, utensils, appliances such as oven/stove top, and all preparation areas used during service upon departure. Full household cleaning or event cleanup is not included unless arranged in advance.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. A 50% deposit plus estimated grocery budget is required to confirm your booking.

Upstate NY Chefs coordinates booking, scheduling, and chef placement for each event. All chefs operate as independent contractors and are responsible for their menus, ingredient sourcing, and on-site culinary execution.
